2014 Oklahoma Gun Dog Championship Saturday Results

What a day we had Saturday! Rain, near freezing temperatures and variable winds resulted in some hard fought scores at the 2014 Oklahoma Gun Dog Championship. The event, held in Oklahoma every three years, matched 5 teams of six dogs against each other in Saturday’s team competition. High scores were scattered throughout the day, but with a run of low scoring braces and a dramatic change in scenting  going into the final brace Larry Moore and Ben Faulkner recorded the highest scoring brace of the day. Buddy Fun Hunt Results

  What a day at the trial grounds! A great group of dogs ran in the field today for the Buddy Fun Hunt that kicks off the start of the 2014 TBDA Trial Season. Jim Anderson and Mike Bloyd finished first, but there were lots of great dogs to watch today. April 6, 2013 Gun Dog Trial Results

  The 2013 spring field trial season ended with a bang! Gary Byfield and his English Setter Buddy ran away with first place in the 7th brace of the day. Although air temperatures were mild, the high winds kept it cool and kept some dogs off the the scent. TBDA newcomer and Quail Run Hunt Club owner Aaron McCoy finished second with a strong run late in the day with his Brittany Elle. March 23rd, 2013 Trial Results

     In a rags to riches story Ben Faulkner and Shelly went from a score of zero in the March 9th trial to a first-place-winning score of  172 with four full finds in the seventh brace of the day. Keith Lindsay and Sonja also put down a score of 172, but a slow start and first find after the 6 minute mark lost him the top spot. Doug Hardesty and Stormy Place First in March 9th Trial.

The 2013 TBDA trial season started off well with a day of 12 braces and three puppies in the field. Overall 27 dogs competed for the first available points in the 2013 championship season. In the Open category Doug Hardesty set the bar high with Stormy early in the day. In the fifth brace Stormy found five birds and retrieved all of them for a total of 215 points. After lunch Tom Krause and Pal pulled down a solid second place finish and Jim Anderson secured a respectable third place finish in the second brace of the day. Full results…

Ties for both first and second place left four braces standing on the final podium for the 2013 Spring Buddy Fun Hunt at the Tulsa Bird Dog Association’s Buddy Fun hunt at the Tulsa Bird Dog Association’s trial grounds in Inola, Okla. In the seventh and final brace Bill Yuan and Roy Marshall scoured the field till the last minute with Buddy and Randolph looking for the one bird that would give them full claim to the first place position.
